[AAAS] News, Medicaid Update, Meeting Next Thursday

Representatives of the Association were invited today to meet with the
Medicaid Agency in Montgomery.  Carol Akin and other Medicaid
representatives informed us they are granting a rate increase in ground
mileage from $1/mile to $3/mile.   The Medicare cross-over payments are
still going to be eliminated, and the gain in mileage does not completely
offset the loss by the cross-overs, but it's better than it was.

 

If you would like to learn more, and there are more details we want to
share, then please join us for an association meeting next Thursday in
Montgomery at 2:00 PM at Jackson Hospital.  The meeting will be held on the
11th floor of the Goode Medical Building at 1722 Pine Street, Montgomery, AL
36106.   We will discuss this issue and more about our future efforts in
governmental affairs.  We are meeting in the afternoon to avoid a conflict
with the EMS Advisory Board meeting that morning.

 

Free parking is available in the parking deck that is connected to the Goode
Medical Building. Use the crossover located on the 4th floor to access the
Goode Medical Building.  Directions are below and Patti Brown, Association

Arriving from I-85 North:

>From I-85N, take Forest Ave (Exit 2)

Stay straight to go onto West 2nd Street

Turn left onto Mulberry Street

Turn left onto Pine Street

                                                         

Arriving from I-85 South:

>From I-85S, take Mulberry Street Exit (Exit 2)

Turn right onto Mulberry Street

Turn left on Pine Street

 

This is a major development and I hope you all can attend.  We will be
working to make sure all member companies are notified and if you are unsure
if your company is a current member then please contact me directly and I
will let you know that status.  If you are not a current member and would
like to join let me know what we need to do to help you in that effort.
